Geostroy honoured for outstanding contribution to the mining industry

Geostroy AD, part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, received a special honorary plaque for its contribution to the advancement of Bulgaria’s mineral resources industry during the national celebration of Miner’s Day. Traditionally, the event is organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology, the Scientific and Technical Union of Mining, Geology, and Metallurgy, the Federation of Independent Miners’ Trade Unions affiliated with the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, and the Podkrepa Mining Trade Union Federation.
The award was presented by the Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov to M.Eng. Yordan Yonov, Executive Director of Geostroy AD. The honorary plaque was bestowed in celebration of the company’s 20th anniversary.
‘Over the past 20 years, Geostroy’s team has completed more than 250 projects in the fields of infrastructure, industrial, civil and environmental construction, thereby enhancing a reputation for excellence and innovation,’ said Associate Professor PhD Eng. Ivan Mitev, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology. Furthermore, he congratulated the team on their exceptional achievements in underground construction.
‘On behalf of Geostroy and all my colleagues, I accept this award with great honour and deep satisfaction in recognition of our work,’ said M.Eng. Yonov. He added that the award is a significant acknowledgement of the company’s success. ‘We will continue to strive for sustainable development and strong partnerships,’ commented the company’s Executive Director.
During the celebration, three other companies from GEOTECHMIN GROUP were also recognized. Ellatzite-Med AD received the annual Safety and Health Award for recording zero injuries over the past year, and an honorary plaque commemorating its 50th anniversary. Geotrading AD and Geoproject EOOD, each celebrating 20 years since their founding, were awarded honorary plaques.
