Reconstruction and renovation of Chemist Cultural Centre in Dimitrovgrad
Geostroy commenced the restoration and general overhaul of Chemist Cultural Centre in the town of Dimitrovgrad. The building is part of the immovable urban cultural heritage – 3rd March Square Ensemble. The project is being implemented under the Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014 - 2020.
The project envisages restoration and interior renovation of the building while preserving the existing planning scheme and functional purpose of the premises. Furthermore, major repairs will be carried out to the existing indoor cinema, which will be transformed into a modern multipurpose hall for theatrical performances, concerts and conferences. The lobby and the corridors will be renovated and modernized. Old windows and doors will be replaced by new joinery. The sculpture above the main entrance will be restored.
The project works also include the construction of a ramp for people with disabilities. Roof repairs will be performed, as well as renovation of the water supply, sewage and electricity installations. A new gas heating system will be installed and the existing boiler room will be fully refurbished. A fire detection and alarm system will be provided in all premises and a fire extinguishing system will be installed on the stage, plus sound control, video surveillance and emergency warning systems.
With the implementation of this project, Geostroy aims to comply with the statutory requirements for a multifunctional cultural building while preserving the authentic atmosphere of the old historic building.
